Mother of Pearl Necklace

When mother nature decides to create something beautiful she knows no bounds!…We all know about Pearls, one of the amazing gift of nature but there are very few people who know about the Mother of Pearl. Mother of Pearl or Nacre is the material of which Pearls are made of and also it is the inner layer of the shell where Pearls are formed. Nacre is known for its sturdiness, resilience, iridescence and of course its natural beauty. Due to these qualities mother of pearl has tremendous use in various sectors like fashion, architecture and musical instruments.

Today I have selected these big chunks of mother of pearl, cut out in teardrop shapes, to design this necklace. The color pattern and the shine of these beads are completely natural. These are rare finds and I’m so happy to get to use those. Following my endeavor to use natural elements in my creations I have strung these cute little natural white coral sticks in between the Nacre beads. So happy with the finished product! The original colors may vary a little from the pictures considering light and angles.
